PERSON-CENTERED GUARDIANSHIPS

More Excellent Way Guardianship is a Person-Centered Guardianship Program. We ensure the care, comfort, and maintenance of Developmentally Disabled Individuals. We make certain all medical needs are met, and the individual's property is safe. We manage the medical health, custody, education, support, supervision, and finances. Funds are used only for the benefit of the individual's needs. We ensure the Individual has proper food, clothing and lives in a place that is appropriate for him or her. We provide appropriate training, education, medical, and psychological services, as well as social and vocational opportunities. We encourage the development of maximum self-reliance and independence of each person. As professional guardians we operate with full accountability, oversight, and transparency in the state's guardianship system.

More excellent way adheres to all Guardian Responsibilities as stated in the Mental Health Act and Michigan's Guardianship System for Vulnerable Adults. We file all required reports to the Probate Court regarding the condition of the Developmentally Disabled Individual. We provide a summary of the residential, medical, educational, vocational, and other professional services given to the individual. We provide an accounting of all financial transactions made by our Guardianship involving the Disabled Individual’s estate. We provide copies of the report to all interested persons as defined by Michigan Court Rule. Our Person-Centered Guardianship is interactive and provides biweekly visits to our Recipients to support them in leading self-directed lives. We involve them in the decision-making processes that impacts the outcome of their desired future. More excellent way adheres to all Guardian Responsibilities as stated in the Mental Health Act and Michigan's Guardianship System for Vulnerable Adults.
