MEW-DD

PERSON-CENTERED ADVOCATES

More Excellent Way encourages Recipients to utilize their personal network of family, friends, church community, co-workers, teachers, life coaches, direct care staff, nurses, physical therapist, medical professionals, as well as resources from the public mental health system to achieve their desired outcomes. During Planning and Decision making, we provide the opportunity for the Recipient to express their opinion about the supports they receive in order to improve the quality of the services being delivered to them. We help the Recipient understand, they have the RIGHT to make formal complaints about how their supports and services are delivered to them and about any of the people who provide these services. We help them review their monthly progress reports from Case Managers and Support Coordinators regarding their Person-Centered Treatment Plan. We encourage Recipients to review their own progress reports toward their desired outcomes and ask if they are satisfied with how their support services are being delivered. If Recipient is dissatisfied, we encourage them to Contact the MIDHHS office of Recipient Rights and speak with an Officer or Advisor.
